The exterior form of this “café bookstore” is inspired by the compact and monolithic geometry of a closed book. Visitors can enjoy reading the freely accessible books in the café while having a drink, or browse and purchase the titles displayed in the bookstore section. Books placed in the café area are intended to be borrowed and read on-site, whereas those in the bookstore section are offered for sale. The vertical lines of the interior bookshelves are extended onto the façade, creating window-like openings aligned along the same axis. This design gesture reinforces the closed-book form while establishing a strong visual continuity between the interior and exterior. Passers-by can glimpse the books from outside, immediately understanding the dual function of the space. Of the two colors chosen for the interior palette, black dominates the bookstore area, creating a calm and focused atmosphere that keeps the books visually prominent. The warm orange used in the café section adds a welcoming, inviting character-suggesting the comfort of a warm drink after browsing or borrowing a book. Les usagers peuvent lire gratuitement les ouvrages mis à disposition dans l’espace café tout en savourant une boisson, ou parcourir et acheter les livres présentés dans la partie librairie. Les livres du café sont destinés à être empruntés et consultés sur place, tandis que ceux de la librairie sont proposés à la vente. Les lignes verticales des étagères intérieures se prolongent sur la façade, formant des ouvertures vitrées alignées sur le même axe. Ce geste architectural renforce la référence au livre fermé tout en établissant une forte continuité visuelle entre l’intérieur et l’extérieur. Les passants peuvent apercevoir les livres depuis la rue et saisir immédiatement la double fonction du lieu. Parmi les deux couleurs utilisées dans la palette intérieure, le noir domine la zone librairie, créant une atmosphère calme qui met les ouvrages en valeur. Le orange chaud employé dans la partie café apporte une ambiance accueillante et conviviale-évoquant le réconfort d'une boisson chaude après l’achat ou l’emprunt d’un livre.
